We got the call about a month before opening day wanting us to coat the fountain because it was leaking into the parking garage below it. The temperatures were in the 40’s and it was rainy and cold. We suggested they wait until after opening day when the weather was warmer and we’d have a better chance at getting the problem solved properly.

More Solutions for Facilities Maintenance

Nope. Get er done before opening day was the final answer.

So, we erected an enclosure, grit blasted the concrete and applied Belzona® 2221 (MP Fluid Elastomer) into the expansion joints. Then we sprayed on two coats of Belzona® 5811 (Immersion Grade). We turned on the electric heaters and walked away on the night before opening day. At 6 AM we returned to dismantle the enclosure and take our equipment off site. The city employees turned the water on and then the parade started.

It’s applications like these that make you question your sanity. We know we can fix any problem that you are faced with. Sometimes we wonder if we can do it in your time frame. But, it always seems to work out.

The good news is that the fountain is still watertight after 22 years in service.

Tell us, how can we help you repair, protect and improve your assets?
